Vapour Sheild is a technology that involves safe, odorless and colorless gases, which are heavier than air. When we fill between the panes of glass in windows with these gases, it lowers the transfer rate of heat and cold, much better than air.
Tests conducted on commercial insulated glass sealants have determined that the superior sealant used in the Armor system will allow a maximum gas permeation of less than 1/3 of 1% per year. It was also noted that other manufacturers use sealants that could allow as much as 3% to escape per year. The superior sealing system that we use, combined with the fact that we fill our units to 98% of their cubic volume with gas, far exceeds the required industry standard of 75% fill.
